@thecandidate0607 i'm not a ventura supporter, either, but as for minnesota's other politicians like walter mondale, hubert humphrey, orville freeman, norm coleman, paul wellstone, dave durenburger, bruce vento, these are people who have been on the national stage and widely acknowledged as credible politicians. current governor tim pawlenty -- i don't support him, but he may be running for president soon and may stand a decent chance.

Well, in my opinion, he wasnt very well suited for an executive political position such as governor. He lacked the charm or charisma needed to be able to express his opinions in a way that doesnt offend anyone. Doesnt mean he was wrong on most of those opinions just that he is a blunt instrument he says what he wants and doesnt care who it offends. This doesnt often bode well for someone looking for votes. Im not saying hes a bad guy he was just a disaster politically.

Well for one thing he said, while governor, that the streets of st. paul were built by drunken irishmen. Though a funny statement, it is still offensive to not only irishmen but the actual people that built the streets. He used taxpayer funded security to run security for a book signing he had which some would say is unethical since he used taxpayer money for something that was his own personal monetary gain. Among many other incidents.

If you go to the C-SPAN archives you can find video evidence of John McCain denying a Democratic senator a moment to finish his thoughts, just like Franken did. Or look through the archives of the Rachel Maddow show for the evidence. This is a non-issue. But good try McCain.
